NY-26: Jack Davis Says Military Service is “Not a Real Job”

You gotta hand it to crazy Jack Davis.  He sure knows how to kick-start a primary campaign in style — by insulting veterans!  From Newsday:

Davis is already taking tough shots.

[Jon] Powers, Davis said, “is a kid. He’s 29 years old and he’s never had a real job,” said Davis. “If we do get into a primary, he won’t have any money left.”

Powers, as you know, served his country with distinction in Iraq.  Is this really the kind of debate that Davis wants to enter as he attempts to buy the goodwill of local Democrats?

  1. You know what is really interesting, we have a 29 (30 actually, his bday was a little bit ago) Iraq veteran running too!  He was the certain underdog when he first started, his campaign was going to go nowhere because a very popular state Sen. who won her first two races in an open GOP-held seat against a very popular big town mayor.  Raised 90k in one week and got the entire state Sen. to endorse her.  He is spanking her in the delegate count so far and I’d love to see two young, Iraq war vets in Congress next year!

  2. but the fact that Bonoff is getting spanked is news to me.  I don’t think Madia stands a chance in that race.  In the even that he does win though, this race would quickly move down my list of top takeover chances though.  Bonoff is definetly the stronger candidate here.
